Chief Olusegun Osoba:

He started Journalism as a cub-reporter in 1964 with the Daily Times of Nigeria- one of the oldest Surviving Newspapers in the country. 

By dint of hard work, he rose through the ranks to the pinnacle of Journalism as the Editor, under the tutelage of Peter Enahoro and Alhaji Babatunde Jose.
A journalist per excellence, Chief Osoba, was at various times a “stringer” for the BBC, Times of London, Newsweek Magazine- USA, and the United Press International News Agency, UPI.

Chief Olusegun Osoba is a distinguished alumnus of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, Oxford University, United Kingdom, and The Indiana University of Journalism- Bloomington, Indiana, USA.
In 1974, Aremo Osoba won the Nieman Fellowship for a study at Harvard University, Cambridge Massachusetts, USA. He is the first black African to have won this highest Journalism Award.

Having cut his teeth  in the rudiment of journalism, it was not surprising that he moved to the managerial pinnacle of the profession with his appointment as General Manager , Nigerian Herald,(1975-1978),Managing Director, Daily Sketch(1979-1984) and Managing Director Daily Times(1984-1989) from where he retired  voluntarily on the silver jubilee anniversary of his joining Daily Times.

 
 

A man that is an icon in the profession of journalism, Osoba was at various time the President, Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria, NPAN, Chairman of the Governing Board of Nigeria Institute of Journalism and member of the executive Board of the International Press Institute representing Black Africa.

He was a two tome Executive Governor of Ogun State, South west Nigeria between 1992 and 1998.Osoba is married and blessed with four children.
